American Messaging Services, formerly Verizon Messaging and AirTouch, and SBC and Ameritech Paging, is the second largest paging and messaging company in the U.S.
Its nationwide one-way networks provide coverage in 98 of the top 100 major metropolitan areas and in all 50 states. Its services include a broad range of on-network numeric and alpha-numeric offerings, as well as two-way messaging and telemetry applications through third-party networks.
Investment History: In November 2005, Incyte, together with its investment partner, Colchester Capital, completed the acquisition of SBC Communications’ paging business. In June 2006, American Messaging completed the acquisition of the paging operations of Verizon Wireless. Incyte continues to work with management on acquisition opportunities. Incyte Capital Managing General Partner Marc A. Gineris serves on the board of American Messaging.

Paging Network of Canada Inc. (”PageNet”), founded in 1996 and based in Toronto, is one of Canada’s leading paging companies. Through its 26 terminals, 327 transmitters, four regional offices and fully functional, single frequency FLEX/reFLEX Motorola-based network, PageNet provides comprehensive data transfer services for one-way, two-way paging, asset tracking and telemetry customer applications.
Investment History: In December 2002, Incyte, together with its Canadian investment partner, completed the purchase of all of PageNet’s Bank Credit Facilities.In December 2003, Incyte and its investment partners completed a restructuring of virtually all of the debt of the Company to equity. In late 2005, PageNet purchased the operations of Verizon Messaging, Canada.
In 2009, Incyte continues to assist PageNet with telecom partnering and acquisition opportunities. Incyte Capital Managing General Partner Marc Gineris and Director, Portfolio Officer Carridine Say serve on the PageNet Board of Directors.
